Simple Translation

1145. Long ago, when the earth was weighed down by unbearable burdens, He went as the messenger in the Bhārata war. He mounted the splendid chariot of Arjuna, took the reins, and as the charioteer, He broke the might of the opposing armies on the battlefield. That same Lord I beheld in Thirukkōvalūr, where Rudra with the bull, Kubera the lord of wealth, Indra and Brahmā — all stand together as if gathered in one place. There, learned Vedic scholars dwell in abundance, and riches overflow in radiant prosperity.

Detailed Explanation

With the divine intention of eliminating the overwhelming burden that had been laden upon Bhūmi Devi and to utterly destroy the formidable armies of His devotees' adversaries, the Supreme Lord, Sriman Nārāyaṇa, descended in a previous age.
