இயமதூதர் தண்டிப்பரே! காப்பாற்று

1001 வம்புலாங்கூந்தல்மனைவியைத்துறந்து
பிறர்பொருள்தாரமென்றிவற்றை *
நம்பினாரிறந்தால்நமன்தமர்பற்றி
எற்றிவைத்து, எரியெழுகின்ற *
செம்பினாலியன்றபாவையைப்
பாவீ * தழுவெனமொழிவதற்க்கு அஞ்சி *
நம்பனே! வந்து உன் திருவடியடைந்தேன்

Simple Translation

1001. O my Father in Naimiśāraṇyam, O Trustworthy One! I abandoned my own wife, desired the wives of others, and called them my own. When such sinners die, Yama’s messengers seize them, torture them, and place them before a woman made of burning copper, saying, “Embrace her now, sinner!” Fearing this fate, I have come, and now cling to Your holy feet.

naimisāraṇiyaththul̤ endhāy — ŏh my lord who is residing in ṣrī naimiṣāraṇyam!; nambanĕ — ŏh trustworthy one!; vambu ulām — fragrant; kūndhal — having hair; manaiviyai — (one-s) wife; thuṛandhu — abandoned; piṛar porul̤ — others- wealth; piṛar dhāram — others- wives; enṛu ivaṝai — these; nambinār — those who desired; iṛandhāl — when they die; naman thamar — servitors of yama; paṝi — catch them; eṝi — torture them; vaiththu — keeping them in a place; sembināl — with copper; iyanṛa — made; eri ezhuginṛa — very hot with fiery sparks; pāvaiyai — a woman-s statue (placing in front); pāvī! — ŏh sinner!; thazhuvu — embrace (this); ena mozhivadhaṛku — for the words [which they will] speak; anji — fearing that; un thiruvadi vandhu adaindhĕn — came and surrendered at your divine feet.
