Simple Translation

969. Before we lean on a stick and grip our backs in pain, With trembling limbs, rolling eyes, and coughing loud, Before the young mock, “Was this man ever strong?” Let us go and worship Badrinath, where bees hum sipping honey from blooms.

The Āzhvār, with profound compassion for our plight, urges us to hasten towards the lotus feet of Emperumān who resides in the glorious kṣētram of Śrī Vadhari. We must seek His divine sanctuary before the inevitable frailties of old age seize our mortal bodies, for a time will surely come when we are met with the scorn of the young and the utter helplessness of our own
