திருப்பிருதி சேர்ந்தோர் துயரம் நீங்கும்

966 ஓதியாயிரநாமங்களுணர்ந்தவர்க்கு *
உறுதுயரடையாமல் *
ஏதமின்றி நின்றருளும்நம்பெருந்தகை *
இருந்தநல்லிமயத்து **
தாதுமல்கியபிண்டிவிண்டலர்கின்ற *
தழல்புரையெழில்நோக்கி *
பேதைவண்டுகளெரியெனவெருவரு *
பிரிதிசென்றடைநெஞ்சே!

Simple Translation

966. He, who is praised with a thousand names, Destroys all sins for those who truly know and trust Him. No harm shall ever touch those, Who do not turn away from His feet. Such is the grace, such is the greatness Of our Lord who dwells in the sacred Himalayas, Where blooming ashoka trees shine with fiery beauty, And foolish bees, mistaking them for flame, Shrink back in fear. Go, O heart, and reach Thiruppirithi!

āyira nāmangal̤ — (his) thousand divine names; ŏdhi — recite (with that); uṇarndhavarkku — for those who acquired the knowledge (that he is the protector); uṛu — occur; thuyar — sins; adaiyāmal — to not reach (them); ĕdham inṛi — to not have any sorrows (for his devotees); ninṛu arul̤um — mercifully present; nam — our lord; perum thagai — greatly famous; irundha — coming and residing; nal — distinguished; imayaththu — in himavān; thādhu — buds; malgiya — being abundant; piṇdi — aṣŏka flowers; viṇdu — opened; alarginṛa — blossoming; thazhal purai — like fire; ezhil — beauty; pĕdhai — ignorant; vaṇdugal̤ — beetles; nŏkki — saw (that); eri ena — considering that to be fire; veruvaru — fearing; piridhi — in thiruppiridhi; senṛu — going; nenjĕ — manassĕ (ŏh mind!); adai — try to reach.
