மாலிடம் மால்கொண்டேன்

669 நூலினேரிடையார்திறத்தே நிற்கும் *
ஞாலந்தன்னொடும் கூடுவதில்லையான் *
ஆலியாஅழையா அரங்கா! என்று *
மாலெழுந்தொழிந்தேன் என்தன்மாலுக்கே.

Simple Translation

669. I don't want to associate with those who love women with beautiful , thread-like slender waists. I call out in love," O Ranga! You sleep on the banyan leaf!" My love increases and I suffer.

நூலின் நேர் — நூல் போன்று மெல்லிய; இடை யார் — இடையையுடைய; திறத்தே நிற்கும் — பெண்களிடத்தே ஈடுபடும்; ஞாலம் தன்னொடும் — இவ்வுலகத்தோடே; யான் — யான்; கூடுவது இல்லை — சேரப்போவது இல்லை; ஆலியா — அன்பினால் ஆடி; அரங்கா! என்று — அரங்கா! என்று; அழையா — அழைத்து; என்தன் மாலுக்கே — என் திருமாலிடமே; மால் — மையல்; எழுந்தொழிந்தேன் — கொண்டுள்ளேன்

There will be no associating, for me, with the world that remains by the side of women with waists finer than thread. Dancing, calling out loud ‘O Raṅga!’ I have ended up with desire rising for my own Māl.
