மாயன் செய்த சூழ்ச்சி என்னே!

289 ஏழைபேதைஓர்பாலகன்வந்து என்பெண்மகளையெள்கி *
தோழிமார்பலர்கொண்டுபோய்ச்செய்த சூழ்ச்சியையார்க்குரைக்கேன்? *
ஆழியானென்னுமாழமோழையில் பாய்ச்சிஅகப்படுத்தி *
மூழையுப்பறியாததென்னும் மூதுரையுமிலளே.

Simple Translation

289. Oh! what shall I say!! My innocent daughter has been tricked by her friends, who have taken her away. To whom shall I say about Kannan? By his mischief, the lord who holds a discus(chakra) in His hands, has pushed my daughter into the deep water of love. Oh! the saying is that the spoon that scoops the porridge doesn’t know how much salt is in the porridge. My daughter is an example for this.
