O Swans! Gracefully Tell My State to the Lord.

அன்னங்காள்! பிரானிடம் எனது நிலை கூறியருள்க

3748 தகவன்றென்றுரையீர்கள் தடம்புனல்வாயிரைதேர்ந்து *
மிகவின்பம்படமேவும் மென்னடையஅன்னங்காள் *
மிகமேனிமெலிவெய்தி மேகலையும்ஈடழிந்து * என்
அகமேனியொழியாமே திருமூழிக்களத்தார்க்கே.

Simple Translation

3748. Oh swans of gentle gait, moving merrily in fertile fields in search of food, go to the Lord in Tirumūḻikkaḷam and tell Him it is hardly fair that He should despise me. Only then can I retain my body, the saree upon it, and my inner soul.

Explanatory Notes

The great Ācāryas, who go about delving and gathering the most delicious meanings, the scriptural texts can possibly yield, are referred to here, as the swans, endowed with the special faculty of picking up milk from a mixture of milk and water. Detailed Explanation

In this tenth and final pāsuraṁ of the chapter, our Āzhvār, in the state of Parāṅguśa Nāyaki, reaches the zenith of her distress. Seeing a flock of swans, she resolves to send them as messengers to Emperumān, urging them to convey the gravity of her condition before she perishes completely.
