(i) Addressing the aliens and heretics, the Āzhvār sums up beautifully the quintessence of the vedic texts and purāṇik teachings, other than those pertaining to the ‘Rājasik’ and ‘tāmasik’ varieties. He affirms that his addressees and the deities they revere (Agni, Śiva, Brahmā etc), are all controlled by Lord Viṣṇu, as the Supreme Controller, seated inside one and all.
In this fifth pāśuram of the chapter, our glorious Āzhvār turns his divine attention towards those who follow paths divergent from the eternal truths of the Vedas. Rejecting the flawed doctrines of the bāhyas, who stand outside the Vedic tradition, and the kudṛṣṭis, who willfully misinterpret its sacred pronouncements, Āzhvār establishes the unparalleled supremacy
