உன்னைத்தானே நான் அழைக்கின்றேன்!

907 மழைக்கன்று வரைமுனேந்தும் மைந்தனே! மதுரவாறே! *
உழைக்கன்றே போல நோக்கம்முடையவர் வலையுள்பட்டு *
உழைக்கின்றேற்கு என்னை நோக்காதொழிவதே! * உன்னை யன்றே
அழைக்கின்றேன் ஆதிமூர்த்தி! அரங்கமாநகருளானே!

907 mazhaikku aṉṟu varai muṉ entum * maintaṉe matura āṟe *

Simple Translation

907. When you were young you carried Govardhanā mountain to stop the storming rain, O you who are like a sweet river. I suffer, caught in the net of doe-eyes women— why don’t you look at me and give me your grace? I have no one but you. I call you, O ancient one, god of Srirangam.

Detailed WBW explanation

mazhaikku – Among the āzhvārs, the term "mazhai" (rain) invariably refers to the hailstones that Indra, the lord of celestial entities, showered upon the cowherds when Kṛṣṇa lifted the Govardhana mountain. Similarly, "Anai" (elephant) consistently refers to Gajendrāzhvān, the elephant that was seized by a crocodile as it reached for a flower to offer to Emperumān.
