திருக்குடந்தையுள் வாழும் கோவலன்

810 சாலிவேலிதண்வயல் தடங்கிடங்குபூம்பொழில் *
கோலமாடநீடு தண்குடந்தைமேயகோவலா! *
காலநேமிவக்கரன் கரன்முரன்சிரம்மவை *
காலனோடுகூட விற்குனித்தவிற்கை வீரனே!

Simple Translation

810. You, a hero, bent your bow, killed the Asurans Vakkaran, Karan and Muran and sent their heads to Yama. You, a cowherd, stay in flourishing Kudandai with ponds and blooming groves and rich fields protected by many fences.

சாலி வேலி — நெற் பயிர்களை வேலியாக உடைய; தண் வயல் — குளிர்ந்த வயல்களும்; தடங்கிடங்கு — பெரிய அகழிகளும்; பூம்பொழில் — பூத்து நிற்கும் தோட்டங்களும்; கோல மாடம் நீடு — அழகாக ஓங்கின மாடங்களும் உடைய; தண் குடந்தை மேய — குளிர்ந்த குடந்தையில் இருக்கும்; கோவலா — கண்ணனே!; காலநேமி வக்கரன் — காலநேமி தந்தவக்கரன்; கரன் முரன் — கரன் முரன் ஆகிய அசுரர்களின்; சிரம் அவை — தலைகளை; காலனோடு கூட — யமலோகம் போய்ச் சேரும்படியாக; வில் குனித்த — வில்லை வளைத்த; வில் கை வீரனே! — வில்லாளியான வீரன் நீயன்றோ?
