மனமே! இராமானுசனே நமக்குக் காவல்

3931 பொருளும்புதல்வரும்பூமியும் * பூங்குழலாருமென்றே
மருள்கொண்டிளைக்கும் நமக்குநெஞ்சே! * மற்றுளார்தரமோ
இருள்கொண்டவெந்துயர்மாற்றித்தன்னீறில்பெரும்புகழே
தெருளும்தெருள்தந்து * இராமானுசன்செய்யும் சேமங்களே.

3931 pŏrul̤um putalvarum pūmiyum * pūṅkuzhalārum ĕṉṟe
marul̤ kŏṇṭu il̤aikkum namakku nĕñce ** maṟṟu ul̤ār taramo

Simple Translation

3931. O heart, we always think of wealth, children, lands, and women with beautiful hair and want them, worrying about how to get them. Our lord removed our desires and the troubles that they give us and gave us knowledge to know what is good and what will bring us fame.
