காடானுமாதானும் கைக்கொள்ளார் * - ஊடேபோய்ப்
பேரோதம்சிந்து திரைக்கண்வளரும் * பேராளன்

Simple Translation

2643. As soon as I recited the names of the generous lord who rests on the ocean with rolling waves I thought my karmā would go away and hide in a forest. Nothing like that happened. Does my karmā think it can still remain with me?

பேர் ஓதம் சிந்து — பரந்த கடலில் சிதறி விழும்; திரைக் ஊடேபோய் — அலைகளின் நடுவே; கண்வளரும் — கண்வளரும்; பேராளன் — பெருமானின்; பேர் — திருநாமங்களை; ஓத — அனுஸந்திக்க வேண்டும்; சிந்திக்க — என்று நினைத்த மாத்திரத்திலே; வல்வினையார் — கொடிய பாவங்கள்; பேர்ந்து — நம்மைவிட்டுக் கிளம்பி; காடானும் — காடுகளிலோ மற்றேதுமோர்; ஆதானும் — இடத்திலோ போய்; கைக்கொள்ளார் — சேராமல் இங்கேயே இருக்கின்றனவே; மாடே வரப்பெறுவராம் — இன்னமும் இங்கேயே வாழலாம்; என்றே? — என்ற எண்ணமோ?

pĕr ŏdham — huge ocean; thirai — (agitating) waves; ūdĕ pŏy sindhu — scattering, close-by; kaṇval̤arum — reclining, as if sleeping; pĕrāl̤an — one who has greatness; pĕr ŏdha — to recite his divine names; sindhikka — the moment one thinks; valvinaiyār — sins who are very powerful; pĕrndhu — leaving (us); kādānum — either forest; ādhānum — or some other place; kaikkol̤l̤ār — they do not attain; mādĕ — near us (just like before); varap peṛuvarām enṛĕ — is it due to the desire to attain us?
