என் நெஞ்சிலிருந்து அகலாதவன் நரசிம்மன்

2619 நின்றுமிருந்தும் கிடந்தும்திரிதந்தும் *
ஒன்றுமோவாற்றான் என்நெஞ்சகலான் * - அன்றங்கை
வன்புடையால்பொன்பெயரோன் வாய்தகர்த்து மார்விடந்தான் *
அன்புடையனன்றேயவன்?
2619 niṉṟum iruntum * kiṭantum tiritantum *
ŏṉṟum ovāṟṟāṉ ĕṉ nĕñcu akalāṉ ** aṉṟu am kai
vaṉ puṭaiyāl pŏṉpĕyaroṉ * vāy takarttu mārvu iṭantāṉ *

Simple Translation

2619. He stands in Thiruvuuragam, he sits in Thiruppādagam and reclines in Thiruvekkā. He wanders everywhere, yet still, he is not satisfied. The god who split open the chest of the Asuran Hiranyan and loves all the creatures of the world entered my heart and stays there, refusing to leave.

அன்று — அன்று; அம் கை — தன் அழகிய கைகளாலே; வன் புடையால் — வலிய அறைந்ததனால்; பொன்பெயரோன் — இரணியனின்; வாய் தகர்த்து — வாயைப் புடைத்து; மார்வு — மார்பை; இடந்தான் — கிழித்தெறிந்த பெருமானாயினும்; அன்புடையன் — அடியார்களிடத்தில் மிக்க அன்புடையவன்; அன்றே அவன் — அன்றோ அவன்!; நின்றும் — நின்றும்; இருந்தும் — வீற்றிருந்தும்; கிடந்தும் — சயனித்திருந்தும்; திரிதந்தும் — உலாவியும்; ஒன்றும் — எதிலும்; ஓவாற்றான் — திருப்தி அடையாதவன்; என் நெஞ்சு — என் நெஞ்சைவிட்டு; அகலான் — நீங்காதவனாக இருக்கிறான்
ninṛum irundhum kidandhum thiridhandhum — standing, sitting, reclining and walking (in various divine abodes in order to attain me); onṛum āṝān — he remains as if he has not done anything; en nenju agalān — he will not leave my heart; anṛu — during that time when he incarnated as narasimha (half lion half human); am kai van pudaiyāl — due to the hard blow (given) with the beautiful hand; pon peyarŏn vāy thagarththu — crushed the mouth of demon hiraṇya kashyap; mārvu idandhān — tore the chest; avan — that emperumān; anbudaiyan anṛĕ — is he not loving (towards his followers)?; ŏ — how amaśing!
