Chapter 7: Thiruvallavāzh - (தந்தை தாய்)

மனமே! திருவல்லவாழைச் சொல்ல நினை

1808 தந்தைதாய்மக்களே சுற்றமென்றுற்றவர்பற்றிநின்ற *
பந்தமார்வாழ்க்கையை நொந்துநீபழியெனக்கருதினாயேல் *
அந்தமாய்ஆதியாய் ஆதிக்குமாதியாய்ஆயனாய *
மைந்தனார்வல்லவாழ் சொல்லுமாவல்லையாய்மருவுநெஞ்சே. (2)

1808 ## tantai tāy makkal̤e * cuṟṟam ĕṉṟu uṟṟavar paṟṟi niṉṟa *
pantam ār vāzhkkaiyai * nŏntu nī pazhi ĕṉak karutiṉāyel **
antam āy āti āy * ātikkum āti āy āyaṉ āya *
maintaṉār vallavāzh * cŏllumā vallai āy maruvu nĕñce 1

Simple Translation

1808. O heart, if you are suffering with your family, your father, mother, children and others, and if you feel you should not be burdened with them, go to famous Thiruvallavazh where the young lord, the cowherd who is the beginning, the end, the ancient of the ancients stays, worship and praise him and love him in your mind.
