மனமே! புல்லாணிக்கு எழுக

1768 தன்னைநைவிக்கிலேன் வல்வினையேன்தொழுதும்எழு *
பொன்னைநைவிக்கும் அப்பூஞ்செருந்திமணநீழல்வாய் *
என்னைநைவித்து எழில்கொண்டகன்றபெருமானிடம் *
புன்னைமுத்தம்பொழில்சூழ்ந்து அழகாயபுல்லாணியே. (2)

1768 ## taṉṉai naivikkileṉ * val viṉaiyeṉ tŏzhutum ĕzhu- *
pŏṉṉai naivikkum * ap pūñ cĕrunti maṇa nīzhalvāy **

Simple Translation

1768. She says, “O heart, you suffer with your love for him. How can I control it? Is it because of my bad karmā? In the cool shadows of the cherundi grove blooming with golden flowers he loved me and then left me taking my beauty with him. He is the god of Thiruppullāni where the punnai trees shed pearl-like flowers in the groves. O heart, let us go there and worship him. ”

வல்வினையேன் — கொடிய பாவத்தையுடைய நான்; தன்னை — என்னை; நைவிக்கிலேன் — அழித்துக்கொள்ள மாட்டேன்; பொன்னை — பொன்னை; நைவிக்கும் — தோற்கடிக்கவல்ல; அப் பூஞ் செருந்தி — புன்னைப் பூக்களின்; மண நீழல் வாய் — மணமுள்ள நிழலிலே; என்னை நைவித்து — என்னை ஈடுபடுத்தி கலந்த; எழில் — என் மேனி நிறத்தை; கொண்டு அகன்ற — கவர்ந்து கொண்டு அகன்ற; பெருமானிடம் — பெருமான் இருக்குமிடம்; புன்னை முத்தம் — முத்துப்போன்ற பூக்களையுடைய; பொழில் — புன்னைமரச் சோலைகளால்; சூழ்ந்து அழகு ஆய — சூழ்ந்த அழகிய; புல்லாணியே — திருப்புல்லாணியை; தொழுதும் எழு — தொழுவோம் எழுந்திரு மனமே!
