படியாகக் கிடந்து பவளவாய் காண்பேன்

685 செடியாயவல்வினைகள் தீர்க்கும்திருமாலே! *
நெடியானே! வேங்கடவா! நின்கோயிலின்வாசல் *
அடியாரும்வானவரும் அரம்பையரும்கிடந்தியங்கும்
படியாய்க்கிடந்து உன்பவளவாய்காண்பேனே. (2)

Simple Translation

685. O Thirumal! You destroy the sins that have grown dense like bushes. O supreme One! The Lord of Thiruvenkatam hills! I wish to become a step at the threshold of your temple where devotees, the gods in the sky and the heavenly damsels throng and climb up to have your darshan and I will see your coral mouth.

veṅkaṭavā! — the Lord of Venkata hills!; nĕṭiyāṉe! — o great One!; tīrkkum tirumāle! — the Lord who removes; cĕṭiyāya — thicket-like; valviṉaikal̤ — cruel karmas; paṭiyāyk kiṭantu — I lie as a step; vācal — at the sacred entrance of; niṉ koyiliṉ — your temple; aṭiyārum — for the devotees; vāṉavarum — the gods; arampaiyarum — and the heavenly maidens like Rambha; kiṭantu iyaṅkum — to walk over and ascend without pause; uṉ paval̤avāy — to behold Your coral-like lips; kāṇpeṉe — may I see them!

O Tirumāl who destroys forceful karmas that are evil! O tall One! O You of Veṅkaṭa! At the entrance of Your temple, I shall see Your red coral lips, lying as a step, on which devotees, celestial beings, Rambhā and the like dwell [and] walk about.
