I Cry Out, "O Father! O Araṅgā!"

அத்தனே அரங்கா என்கின்றேன்

674 எத்திறத்திலும் யாரொடும்கூடும் * அச்
சித்தந்தன்னைத்தவிர்த்தனன் செங்கண்மால் *
அத்தனே! அரங்கா! என்றழைக்கின்றேன் *
பித்தனாயொழிந்தேன் எம்பிரானுக்கே.

Simple Translation

674. My mind shuns the thought of joining anyone who is not your devotee. I call you, “O Thirumāl with beautiful eyes, You are my Rangan, You are my lord!” and O lord, I have become crazy .

Upon being asked, “By what great virtue have you attained this exalted state of complete disinterest in associating with worldly people?” the Āzhvār humbly responds, “This disposition is not a product of my own efforts or merits. It was Sriman Nārāyaṇa, my supreme master, who graciously cultivated this purity within my heart.”
