அறிவை என்னும் அமுத ஆறு

464 பறவையேறுபரம்புருடா! நீஎன்னைக்கைக்கொண்டபின் *
பிறவியென்னும்கடலும்வற்றிப் பெரும்பதமாகின்றதால் *
இறவுசெய்யும்பாவக்காடு தீக்கொளீஇவேகின்றதால் *
அறிவையென்னும்அமுதவாறு தலைப்பற்றிவாய்க்கொண்டதே.

464 paṟavai eṟu paramapuruṭā! * nī ĕṉṉaik kaikkŏṇṭa piṉ *
piṟavi ĕṉṉum kaṭalum vaṟṟip * pĕrumpatam ākiṉṟatāl **

Simple Translation

464. God of Gods (paRāmapurusha) ! You have Garudā as your vehicle. Now that You have embraced me, the ocean of births have dried up leading me to the lofty abode. All my sins, dense like forest, have been burnt and my soul is enlightened. I lie immersed in the nectar-like river of knowledge.

பறவை ஏறு — கருடன் மீது ஏறும்; பரம்புருடா! — புருஷோத்தமனே!; நீ என்னை — நீ என்னை; கைக் கொண்ட பின் — அங்கீகரித்த பின்; பிறவி என்னும் — சம்சாரமாகிற; கடலும் — கடலும்; வற்றிப் பெரும் — வறண்டு பெரியதொரு; பதம் — பதவியாக; ஆகின்றதால் — ஆகின்றதால்; இறவு — இந்த ஆத்மாவை முடிவு; செய்யும் — மூடிக்கிடந்த; பாவக்காடு — பாபம் என்னும் காடு; தீக்கொளீ இ — நெருப்புப்பற்றி; வேகின்றதால் — வெந்து விட்டது ஆதலால்; அறிவை என்னும் — ஞானமாகிற; அமுத ஆறு — அமிர்த நதியானது; வாய் — பெருகி வாயளவு வந்து; தலைப் பற்றி — தலைக்கு மேல்; கொண்டதே — போகின்றதே

parampuruṭā! — o Supreme Purusha!; paṟavai eṟu — who ascends upon Garuda; nī ĕṉṉai — after You; kaik kŏṇṭa piṉ — accepted me; kaṭalum — the vast sea; piṟavi ĕṉṉum — of samsara; vaṟṟip pĕrum — has dried up and; ākiṉṟatāl — turned into a great; patam — position for me; pāvakkāṭu — the deadly forest of sins; cĕyyum — that covered; iṟavu — this soul; tīkkŏl̤ī i — caught fire; vekiṉṟatāl — and is burnt; aṟivai ĕṉṉum — the wisdom-filled; amuta āṟu — river of nectar; vāy — has risen and come up to the mouth; talaip paṟṟi — and is now above the head; kŏṇṭate — and is overflowing and surging forward
