408 கொழுப்புடையசெழுங்குருதி கொழித்திழிந்துகுமிழ்த்தெறிய *
பிழக்குடையஅசுரர்களைப் பிணம்படுத்தபெருமானூர் *
தழுப்பரியசந்தனங்கள் தடவரைவாய்ஈர்த்துக்கொண்டு *
தெழிப்புடையகாவிரிவந்து அடிதொழும்சீரரங்கமே.

Simple Translation

408. Srirangam is the divine place of the Lord who fought against the asuras, made them shed red blood that bubbled and flowed out with their fat and threw them as corpses This is the place where the Kaveri flows with abundant water, uprooting and carrying fragrant sandalwood trees from the huge mountains and placing them at the feet of the dear lord to worship him.

araṅkame — it is Sri Rangam; kāviri vantu — where cauvery river that runs; īrttuk kŏṇṭu — uproots and bring; cantaṉaṅkal̤ — sandalwood trees that; ariya — are gigantic; taḻuppu — and unable to embrace; taṭavaraivāy — from the mountains; tĕḻippu uṭaiya — with a roaring sound; tŏḻum cīr — and surrenders; aṭi — at the feet of the Lord; pĕrumāṉ ūr — its the residing place of our Lord; piṇam paṭutta — who destroyed; acurarkal̤ai — the asuras; piḻakku uṭaiya — who performed evil tasks; cĕḻuṅkuruti — and made the blood; kumiḻttu — bubbled and; kŏḻittu iḻintu — flow from them; kŏḻuppu uṭaiya — along with their fat; ĕṟiya — and burnt them
