கருமுகில் வண்ணன் பெயரையே விரும்பு

387 மண்ணில்பிறந்துமண்ணாகும் மானிடப்பேரிட்டு * அங்கு
எண்ணமொன்றின்றியிருக்கும் ஏழைமனிசர்காள்! *
கண்ணுக்கினிய கருமுகில்வண்ணன்நாமமே
நண்ணுமின் * நாரணன் தம்அன்னைநரகம்புகாள்.

387 maṇṇil piṟantu maṇ ākum māṉiṭap per iṭṭu aṅku
ĕṇṇam ŏṉṟu iṉṟi irukkum * ezhai maṉicarkāl̤ **
kaṇṇukku iṉiya * karumukil vaṇṇaṉ nāmame
naṇṇumiṉ * nāraṇaṉ * tam aṉṉai narakam pukāl̤ (7)

Simple Translation

387. O, ignorant ones! Your children are human and they were born from unclean bodies and will return to the earth. You gave them the name of people and do not realize what you have done is not good. Think of giving the name of the dark cloud-colored one who is sweet to the eyes. Approach Nāranan. He will not send the mothers of your children to hell.

மண்ணில் பிறந்து — மண்ணிலிருந்து பிறந்து; மண்ணாகும் — பின்பு மண்ணாய்விடுகிற; மானிட — மனிதர்களுடைய; பேர் இட்டு அங்கு — பெயரை இட்டு; எண்ணம் ஒன்று இன்றி — உய்வு பற்றிய எண்ணமில்லாத; இருக்கும் ஏழை மனிசர்காள்! — அறிவு கெட்ட மனிதர்களே!; கண்ணுக்கு இனிய — கண்ணுக்கு இனிய; கருமுகில் — காளமேகம் போன்ற; வண்ணன் நாமமே — எம்பெருமான் திரு நாமத்தையே; நண்ணுமின் — நாடுங்கள்; நாரணன்தன் — நாராயணன் பெயரைக் கொண்ட; அன்னை — பிள்ளையின் தாய்மார்கள்; நரகம் புகாள் — நரகத்தை அடைய மாட்டார்கள்

irukkum eḻai maṉicarkāl̤! — oh, ignorant human beings!; ĕṇṇam ŏṉṟu iṉṟi — without any thought of evolution; per iṭṭu aṅku — you give names to; māṉiṭa — human beings; maṇṇil piṟantu — who are born from earth; maṇṇākum — and later become part of it; naṇṇumiṉ — you instead give; vaṇṇaṉ nāmame — the sacred name of our Lord; kaṇṇukku iṉiya — who is pleasant to the eye; karumukil — like a beautiful dark cloud; aṉṉai — the mother of such a child; nāraṇaṉtaṉ — named after Lord Narayana; narakam pukāl̤ — will not go to hell
