வார்காதுதாழப்பெருக்கி *
குணநன்றுடையர்இக்கோபாலபிள்ளைகள்
கோவிந்தா! நீசொல்லுக்கொள்ளாய் *
இணைநன்றழகியஇக்கடிப்புஇட்டால்
இனியபலாப்பழம்தந்து *
சுணநன்றணிமுலையுண்ணத்தருவன்நான்

Simple Translation

142. O Govinda, the cowherd children wear colorful earrings studded with beautiful diamonds, that hang down from their ears— see, they are good children. O Govinda, why don’t you listen to me? If you wear these lovely earrings I will give you sweet jackfruit to eat and milk from my beautiful breasts. My dear one. I plead with you—come here.

வணம் நன்று உடைய — சிறந்த வண்ணமுடைய; வயிரக் கடிப்பு — வயிரம் பொருந்திய காதணிகளை; இட்டு — அணிந்துகொண்டு; வார் காது — நீண்ட காதை; தாழப் பெருக்கி — மேலும் தாழச் செய்துகொண்ட; இக் கோபால பிள்ளைகள் — இந்த ஆயர் சிறுவர்கள்; குணம் நன்று — நல்ல குணமுடையவர்களாக; உடையர் — இருக்கிறார்கள்; கோவிந்தா! — கோவிந்தா!; நீ சொல்லு — நீ அவர்களுடன் சேர்ந்து என் பேச்சைக்; கொள்ளாய் — கேட்க மறுக்கிறாய்; இணை நன்று — அழகான ஜோடியாக இணைந்திருக்கும்; அழகிய இக் கடிப்பு — அழகிய காதணியை நீ; இட்டால் — போட்டுக் கொண்டால்; இனிய பலாப்பழம் தந்து — இனிப்பான பலாச்சுளை தந்து; சுணம் நன்று — என் மார்பின்; அணி முலை உண்ண — பாலைப் பருக; தருவேன் நான் — தருவேன் நான்; சோத்தம் — உன்னை வணங்குகிறேன்; பிரான்! — கண்ணபிரானே!; இங்கே வாராய் — இங்கு வருவாயே!

ik kopāla pil̤l̤aikal̤ — these Aiyarpadi children; uṭaiyar — who remain; kuṇam naṉṟu — good natured; iṭṭu — wore; vayirak kaṭippu — earrings studded with diamonds that are; vaṇam naṉṟu uṭaiya — red in color; tāḻap pĕrukki — and the earrings bring own their already; vār kātu — long ears; kovintā! — Govinda!; nī cŏllu — You joined with them and; kŏl̤l̤āy — refuse to listen to me; iṭṭāl — if you wear these; aḻakiya ik kaṭippu — beautiful earrings; iṇai naṉṟu — that look gorgeous as a pair; iṉiya palāppaḻam tantu — I will give You sweet jackfruit; taruveṉ nāṉ — i will also give; aṇi mulai uṇṇa — You milk from; cuṇam naṉṟu — my breast; cottam — I bow to You; pirāṉ! — Kanna!; iṅke vārāy — come here!
