ஆய்ச்சியர் பிடியில் சிக்கியவன்

217 ஆய்ச்சியர்சேரி அளைதயிர்பாலுண்டு *
பேர்த்தவர்கண்டுபிடிக்கப் பிடியுண்டு *
வேய்த்தடந்தோளினார் வெண்ணெய்கொள்மாட்டாது * அங்
காப்புண்டிருந்தானால்இன்றுமுற்றும்
அடியுண்டழுதானால்இன்றுமுற்றும்.

Simple Translation

217. O Yashodā, when your son stole the milk and curd that was kept for churning in the cowherd village and ate them, the cowherds saw him, caught him and tied him up. Now he can’t steal the butter made by the cowherd women with round bamboo-like arms because they tied him up and spanked him so he cried. This isn’t fair.

ஆய்ச்சியர் சேரி — ஆய்ச்சிமார்கள் தங்கள் வீட்டில்; அளை — கடைய வைத்திருந்த; தயிர் — தயிரையும்; பால் — காய்ச்ச வைத்திருந்த பாலையும்; உண்டு — அமுது செய்து; பேர்த்து — வெண்ணையை; அவர் — தேடிக்கொண்டிருந்த போது; வேய் — மூங்கில் போன்ற மெலிந்த; தடந்தோளினார் — தோள்களையுடைய ஆய்ச்சியரால்; கண்டு — மறைந்திருந்து; பிடிக்கப் பிடியுண்டு — கண்ணனைப் பிடிக்கப் பிடியுண்டு; வெண்ணெய் — வெண்ணெயை; கொள் மாட்டாது — எடுக்கவிடாமல்; அங்கு ஆப்புண்டு — அவர்கள் கட்டி வைத்திருந்ததனால்; இன்று முற்றும் — இன்று முடிந்தோம்; அடியுண்டு — அடிபட்டுக்கொண்டு; அழுதானால் அழுது — அழுதுகொண்டிருந்ததனால்; இன்று முற்றும் — இன்று முடிந்தோம்

uṇṭu — He cosumed; tayir — the curd and; pāl — milk; al̤ai — kept for churning; āycciyar ceri — by the cowherd women; avar — then He was searching for; perttu — the butter; taṭantol̤iṉār — cowherd women with arms; vey — like bamboo; kaṇṭu — hid themselves; piṭikkap piṭiyuṇṭu — and caught Him in time; kŏl̤ māṭṭātu — before he stole; vĕṇṇĕy — the butter; aṅku āppuṇṭu — since they tied Him; iṉṟu muṟṟum — we are done; aṭiyuṇṭu — they spanked Him; aḻutāṉāl aḻutu — and He cried; iṉṟu muṟṟum — we are done
