Simple Translation

2469. When the messengers of Yama come and take someone’s life our god is the one who will come and save him. If devotees praise Thirumāl with songs and think of him always, they will live happily. The life of those who belong to other religions is a waste.

In this sacred verse, the revered Āzhvār continues to eloquently glorify the boundless grace of Emperumān. He illuminates the sublime benefits that the Supreme Lord personally confers upon His devotees, especially those who, finding themselves utterly destitute of any other means (akiñcana), have taken complete and final refuge in Him alone.
