He is the Swāmī (Lord) who manifested in the exalted form of Vāmana, holding water in His hand as a symbol of accepting alms, and measured all the worlds to bring them under His dominion. He is Periya Perumāḷ, who reposes on Thiruvandhāzhwān as His mattress in the serene abode of Śrīraṅgam, where the virtuous dwell. Even when I possess nothing, He appears to claim my very essence.
