எல்லாவுலகும் அளந்துகொண்ட எம்பெருமான் *

Simple Translation

611. He rests on the snake bed in Srirangam where good people live. He went as a little boy to Mahābali, made him pour water on His golden hands, tricked him and measured the entire world I don't have anything with me. He seems to take away the little I have. What will He take?

Detailed WBW explanation

He is the Swāmī (Lord) who manifested in the exalted form of Vāmana, holding water in His hand as a symbol of accepting alms, and measured all the worlds to bring them under His dominion. He is Periya Perumāḷ, who reposes on Thiruvandhāzhwān as His mattress in the serene abode of Śrīraṅgam, where the virtuous dwell. Even when I possess nothing, He appears to claim my very essence.
