avathārikai (Introduction)
In this verse, the Āzhvār addresses the Supreme Lord, Sriman Nārāyaṇa, reflecting upon the intricate tapestry of existence He has woven. You, O Lord, have established a multitude of paths (mārgas) and philosophical systems (darśanas) through which sentient beings (jīvātmās) may strive to attain their desired ends (puruṣārthas).
