சாரங்க பாணி நீதான்

766 அங்கமாறும்வேதநான்கும் ஆகிநின்றவற்றுளே *
தங்குகின்றதன்மையாய்! தடங்கடல்பணத்தலை *
செங்கண்நாகணைக்கிடந்த செல்வமல்குசீரினாய் *
சங்கவண்ணமன்னமேனி சார்ங்கபாணியல்லையே?

766. You are the four Vedās, the six Upanishads and their meaning. You, the precious one rest on the wide ocean on many-headed Adishesha. Aren’t you the one with a white conch and the Sarngam bow?

In this profoundly moving pāśuram, the Āzhvār meditates upon the glorious and paradoxical nature of the Supreme Lord, Sriman Nārāyaṇa. He marvels at how the Lord, whose true essence can only be apprehended through the sacred Vedas, willingly descends from His transcendent abode to shower His boundless mercy upon His devoted followers.
