Simple Translation

2739. "The heroic Rāma obeyed his father, king Dasaratha, gave up the rich kingdom making all the people of the kingdom suffer and left his country. (28)

போர் வேந்தன் — போர் புரிவதில் சிறந்த ராமன்; தன்னுடைய தாதை — தன் தந்தையின்; பணியால் அரசு — சொல்படி அரசாள்வதை; ஒழிந்து — தவிர்த்து; பொன் — அயோத்தி; நகரம் — நகரத்திலுள்ளவர்கள் அனைவரும்; பின்னே — நீ காட்டுக்குப்போகேல் என்று பின்னால்; புலம்ப — அழுது கொண்டே வந்தபோதிலும்; வலம் கொண்டு — கடுமையான நெஞ்சுடன்; மன்னும் வளநாடு — வளமான செல்வம் மிகுந்த நாட்டை; கைவிட்டு — விட்டு; மாதிரங்கள் — திக்குகள்தோறும்

pŏr vĕndhan — rāma, who is like a tiger in war; thannudaiya thādhai paṇiyāl — as per the counsel of his father dhaṣaratha; arasu ozhindhu — avoiding ruling of the land (and setting forth for the forest); ponnagaram — all the people who were residing in the beautiful city of ayŏdhyā; pinnĕ pulamba — even though they came behind (ṣrī rāma) crying (telling him not to go to the forest); valam koṇdu — not stepping back from his from resolve; val̤am mannu nādu kaivittu — renouncing the wealthy state of kŏsala
