2635 மனமாளுமோரைவர் வன்குறும்பர்தம்மை *
சினமாள்வித்துஓரிடத்தேசேர்த்து * - புனமேய
தண்துழாயானடியைத்தான் காணுமஃதன்றே? *
வண்டுழாஞ்சீரார்க்குமாண்பு.

Simple Translation

2635. The wicked five senses control the mind, eyes, nose, mouth, ears and body. The best thing for the devotees of the lord adorned with a cool thulasi garland is to control the feelings of the five senses and worship the lord’s feet.

மனம் ஆளும் — மனதை அடக்கி ஆளும்; ஓர் ஐவர் — பஞ்சேந்திரியங்கள் என்னும்; வன் குறும்பர் தம்மை — துஷ்டர்களை; சினம் மாள்வித்து — கோபம் அடங்கச்செய்து; ஓர் இடத்தே — ஒரு நல்ல இடத்தில்; சேர்த்து — கொண்டு சேர்த்து; புனம் மேய — அங்கேயே பொருந்தி; தண் — குளிர்ந்த; துழாயான் — துளசி மாலை அணிந்துள்ள; அடியை — பெருமானின் திருவடிகளை; தாம் காணும் — தாம் வணங்க; அஃது அன்றே — செய்வதன்றோ; வண் துழாம் — அழகிய பரந்த நற்குணங்களுடைய; சீராக்கு மாண்பு — சிறந்த பக்தர்களுக்கு அழகு

manam āl̤um — those who take control of the mind; van kuṛumbar — being powerful and indulging in mischief; ŏr aivar thammai — the unique five sensory perceptions; sinam āl̤viththu — removing anger (towards them); ŏr idaththe sĕrththu — engaging with the incomparable bhagavath vishayam (matters relating to emperumān); punam mĕya thaṇ thuzhāyān — one who has the cool, comfortable thul̤asai, which blossoms as if it were on its own land, such emperumān’s; adiyĕ thām kāṇum — the activity of worshipping the divine feet; ahdhanṛĕ — isn’t that; vaṇ thuzhām sīrārkku — for ṣrīvaishṇavas (devotees of emperumān), who are magnanimous and who have great qualities,; māṇbu — beautiful?
