நாரணன் புகழ்பேசிப் பிழைப்பாயாக

2623 பிழைக்கமுயன்றோமோ? நெஞ்சமே! பேசாய் *
தழைக்குந்துழாய்மார்வன்தன்னை * - அழைத்துஒருகால்
போயுபகாரம் பொலியக்கொள்ளாது * அவன்புகழே
வாயுபகாரம்கொண்டவாய்ப்பு.

Simple Translation

2623. O heart, if you want to survive you should do good deeds. It is not enough only to praise him with a fresh thulasi garland on his chest.

நெஞ்சமே! — ஓமனமே!; தழைக்கும் — தழைத்திருக்கும்; துழாய் — துளசிமாலை; மார்வன் — அணிந்துள்ள; தன்னை — பெருமானை; அழைத்து ஒருகால் — அழைத்து அவனிடம்; அவன் புகழே — அவனைப் புகழ்ந்து; போய் — பரமபதத்தில் சென்று; உபகாரம் — கைங்கர்யம்; பொலியக் கொள்ளாது — செய்யாமல் அவனுடைய; உபகாரம் — குணங்களை; வாய் — வாயால் வாழ்த்தி வணங்கி; பிழைக்க — பக்தியுடன் தொழுவது; கொண்ட — இங்கிருந்து கொண்டே; வாய்ப்பு — செய்யும் வாய்ப்பு; முயன்றோமோ? — தப்பு செய்ததாகுமோ?; பேசாய்? — நீயே சொல்வாய்
