surrounded with groves swarming with bees,
who conquered many lands,
composed ten Tamil pāsurams on the cloud-colored god of Thirukkannapuram.
O kol bee, blow on the flowers
as we his devotees and think of the god
and sing the pāsurams of Kaliyan.
