கோவிந்தன் என்று பெயரிட்டால் நரகமில்லை

385 மலமுடையூத்தையில்தோன்றிற்று ஓர்மலவூத்தையை *
மலமுடையூத்தையின்பேரிட்டால் மறுமைக்கில்லை *
குலமுடைக்கோவிந்தா! கோவிந்தா! என்றுஅழைத்தக்கால் *
நலமுடைநாரணன் தம்அன்னைநரகம்புகாள்.

385 malam uṭai ūttaiyil toṉṟiṟṟu or * mala ūttaiyai *

Simple Translation

385. You will not be blessed in your next birth if you give the name of another human born from an unclean womb. If you call him, saying, “O Govinda, Govinda! You have been born in a good family!” Nāranan who does only good things for all will not send the mothers of your children to hell.

மலம் உடை — மலத்தை யுடையதும்; ஊத்தையில் — இழிவான சரீரத்தில்; தோன்றிற்று — தோன்றிய; ஓர் மல ஊத்தையை — ஒரு கழிவுப் பொருளை; மலம் உடை ஊத்தையின் — இழிந்ததான; பேர் இட்டால் — பேர் இட்டால்; மறுமைக்கு இல்லை — மோக்ஷத்துக்குப் பயன் இல்லை; குலமுடைக் கோவிந்தா! — நற்குலத்திற் பிறந்த கோவிந்தா!; கோவிந்தா! என்று — கோவிந்தா! என்று; அழைத்தக்கால் — அழைத்தீர்களாகில்; நலமுடை — நன்மையையுடைய; நாரணன் தம் — நாராயணனெனும் பெயருடைய; அன்னை — பிள்ளையின் தாய்மார்கள்; நரகம் புகாள் — நரகத்தை அடைய மாட்டார்கள்
