என் மகன் வளைவிற்று நாவற்பழம் வாங்கினான்

சூழலுடையன்உன்பிள்ளைதானே *
இல்லம்புகுந்துஎன்மகளைக்கூவிக்
கையில்வளையைக்கழற்றிக்கொண்டு *
கொல்லையில்நின்றும்கொணர்ந்துவிற்ற

Simple Translation

211. A cowherd girl complains, “ O lovely Yashodā, If anyone complains about your son, you get upset. He is tricky. He came to our house and called my girl, took her bracelets, went away through the backyard, sold them to the berry seller and bought some sweet berries and ate them. When I asked him about the bracelets, he said, “I haven’t seen them” and laughed.

நங்காய் — யசோதையே; சொல்லில் — உன் மகனின் விஷமங்களைச் சொன்னால்; அரசிப் படுதி — நீ கோபிக்கிறாய்; உன் பிள்ளை தானே — உன் பிள்ளையானவன்; சூழல் உடையன் — விஷமக்காரனாக இருக்கிறான்; இல்லம் புகுந்து — என் வீட்டிற்குள் வந்து; என் மகளைக் கூவி — என் மகளைக் கூப்பிட்டு; கையில் — அவள் கையிலணிந்திருந்த; வளையை — வளையலை; கழற்றிக் கொண்டு — கழற்றிக்கொண்டு போய்; கொல்லையில் நின்றும் — வீட்டின் பின்புறத்தில்; கொணர்ந்து விற்ற — பழங்களை விற்ற; அங்கு ஒருத்திக்கு — ஒருத்தியிடம்; அவ்வளை கொடுத்து — அந்த வளையலை கொடுத்து; நல்லன நாவற் பழங்கள் — நல்ல நாவற் பழங்களை; கொண்டு — வாங்கிக் கொண்டு; நான் அல்லேன் — என்னைக் கண்டதும் இந்த வளையலை; என்று சிரிக்கிறானே! — நான் கொடுக்கவில்லை என்று சிரிக்கிறான்!
