மல்லர்களை அழித்தவனுக்குப் புன்னைப் பூ

187 எருதுகளோடுபொருதி ஏதும்உலோபாய்காண்நம்பி!
கருதியதீமைகள்செய்து கஞ்சனைக்கால்கொடுபாய்ந்தாய்! *
தெருவின்கண்தீமைகள்செய்து சிக்கெனமல்லர்களோடு *
பொருதுவருகின்றபொன்னே! புன்னைப்பூச்சூட்டவாராய்.

187 ĕrutukal̤oṭu pŏruti * etum ulopāy kāṇ nampī *
karutiya tīmaikal̤ cĕytu * kañcaṉaik kālkŏṭu pāyntāy **

Simple Translation

187. O, best among men! You fought with bulls ( to marry Nappinnai) You knew the evil deeds of Kamsan and killed him with your ploys, and you fought with the wrestlers and defeated them. You teased the cowherd girls on the streets. You are precious as gold! Come and I will decorate your hair with oil-nut flowers.

pŏruti — You defeated; ĕrutukal̤oṭu — the seven bulls; kāṇ, nampi — my Lord, You; etum ulopāy! — remained without any desire; cĕytu — You defeated; karutiya — Kamsan who wanted; tīmaikal̤ — to do evil deeds to You; pāyntāy — You hit; kañcaṉaik kālkŏṭu — that Kamsan with Your legs; tīmaikal̤ cĕytu — You also; tĕruviṉ kaṇ — killed the wicked people who came on the streets; pŏṉṉe! — You are precious as gold; pŏrutu — who fought; cikkĕṉa — and defeated; mallarkal̤oṭu — the wrestlers; cūṭṭa vārāy — come and I will decorate You with; puṉṉaip pū — oil-nut flowers
