திருக்குடந்தை சார்ங்கபாணி

81 பரந்திட்டுநின்ற படுகடல் தன்னை *
இரந்திட்டகைம்மேல் எறிதிரைமோத *
கரந்திட்டுநின்ற கடலைக்கலங்க *
சரந்தொட்டகைகளால்சப்பாணி சார்ங்கவிற்கையனே! சப்பாணி.

81 parantiṭṭu niṉṟa * paṭukaṭal taṉṉai *
irantiṭṭa kaimmel * ĕṟitirai mota **

Simple Translation

81. When Varunan hid and shot his arrows to stop you Rāma from building a bridge to Lankā, you shot arrows to calm the waves of the ocean and the ocean allowed you to go to Lankā. Clap with the hands that carry the bow Sarnga that shot those arrows. Clap your hands.

பரந்திட்டு நின்ற — விஸ்தீரணமாய் பரந்து நின்ற; படுகடல் — ஆழமான சமுத்திரமானது; தன்னை இரந்திட்ட — தன்னைக் குறித்து சரணாகதி பண்ணின; கைகளின் மேல் — கைகளின் மீது; எறி திரை — திவலைகளை வீசும் அலைகள்; மோத — மோதும்போது; கடலைக் — அக்கடலுக்கு உரிய தேவதையான வருணன்; கலங்க — கலங்கும்படி; சரந்தொட்ட — அம்புகளை தொடுத்துவிட்ட; கைகளால் — திருக்கைகளால்; சப்பாணி — சப்பாணி கொட்டிடுவாய்!; சார்ங்க — சார்ங்கமெனும்; விற் கையனே! — தனுசை ஏந்தியவனே!; சப்பாணி — சப்பாணி கொட்டிடுவாய்!
