கண்ணன் நெடுமால்

61 சிறியனென்றுஎன்னிளஞ்சிங்கத்தை இகழேல்கண்டாய் *
சிறுமையின்வார்த்தையை மாவலியிடைச்சென்றுகேள் *
சிறுமைப்பிழைகொள்ளில் நீயும்உன்தேவைக்குரியைகாண் *
நிறைமதீ! நெடுமால் விரைந்துஉன்னைக்கூவுகின்றான்.

Simple Translation

61. Don't mistake my young lion to be a small child. Go and ask king Mahābali about the words the small boy (Vāmanā) spoke to him. If you consider Him small, it is your mistake and you will need His help soon. O full moon, Nedumal calls you, come soon.

என் இளஞ்சிங்கத்தை — என்னுடைய சிங்கக்குட்டியை; சிறியன் என்று — சிறுபிள்ளை என்று; இகழேல் கண்டாய் — ஏளனம் செய்யாதே; சிறுமையின் வார்த்தையை — பால பிராயத்தில் நடந்தவற்றை; மாவலியிடை — மகாபலியிடம்; சென்று கேள் — சென்று கேட்டுப் பார்; சிறுமை — சிறுமையை நினைத்தது; பிழை கொள்ளில் — தவறு என்று நீயும் கருதினாயாகில்; நீயும் உன் தேவைக்கு — நீயும் அந்த விஷயத்தில்; உரியைகாண்! — அடிமைக்குத் தகுந்தவனாக; நெடுமால் விரைந்து — நீ விரைவாக வர நெடுமால்; உன்னைக் கூவுகின்றான் — உன்னை அழைக்கிறான்; நிறை மதீ! — பூர்ணசந்திரனே!

ikaḻel kaṇṭāy — don’t mock and think of; ĕṉ il̤añciṅkattai — my lion cub; ciṟiyaṉ ĕṉṟu — as just a little child; cĕṉṟu kel̤ — go and ask; māvaliyiṭai — mahabali; ciṟumaiyiṉ vārttaiyai — as to what happened during His childhood; piḻai kŏl̤l̤il — by mistake if you also think; ciṟumai — of Him as small; nīyum uṉ tevaikku — then you too, in that case; uriyaikāṇ! — will be a slave; niṟai matī! — o full moon!; nĕṭumāl viraintu — you come quickly, Nedumal; uṉṉaik kūvukiṉṟāṉ — is calling you
