பரமன் திருநுதல் (நெற்றி)

41 முற்றிலும்தூதையும் முன்கைம்மேல்பூவையும் *
சிற்றிலிழைத்துத் திரிதருவோர்களை *
பற்றிப்பறித்துக்கொண்டு ஓடும்பரமன்தன் *
நெற்றிஇருந்தவாகாணீரே நேரிழையீர்! வந்துகாணீரே.

41 muṟṟilum tūtaiyum * muṉkaimel pūvaiyum *
ciṟṟil izhaittut * tiri taruvorkal̤aip **
paṟṟip paṟittukkŏṇṭu * oṭum paramaṉtaṉ *

Simple Translation

41. He grabs the birds from the hands of small girls who carry a winnowing fan and a small pot and wander holding a puvai bird on their wrists making small sand houses. Come and see His beautiful forehead, O girls decorated with precious jewels, come and see His forehead.

சிற்றில் இழைத்து — மணலில் சிறு வீடு கட்டி; திரிதருவோர்களை — விளையாடித்திரியும் பெண்களை; முற்றிலும் தூதையும் — சிறு முறங்களையும் பானைகளையும்; முன் கைம்மேல் — கைமேல் வைத்து விளையாடும்; பூவையும் — பூவையும் (மைனா); பற்றி — கையைப்பிடித்து; பறித்துக் கொண்டு — பறித்துக் கொண்டு; ஓடும் பரமன்தன் — ஓடும் கண்ணபிரானின்; நெற்றி இருந்தவா — நெற்றியின் அழகை; காணீரே — காண்பீரே!; நேரிழையீர்! — நேர்த்தியான ஆபரணங்களையுடையவர்களே!; வந்து காணீரே! — வந்து காண்பீரே!

tiritaruvorkal̤ai — oh women playing and wandering; ciṟṟil iḻaittu — built small sand houses; muṉ kaimmel — and playing; muṟṟilum tūtaiyum — with sieves and pots; neriḻaiyīr! — those with elegant ornaments!; kāṇīre — see!; nĕṟṟi iruntavā — the beauty of Kannan's forehead; oṭum paramaṉtaṉ — who was running; paṟittuk kŏṇṭu — after grabbing; paṟṟi — the hands of women holding; pūvaiyum — Myna birds; vantu kāṇīre! — come and see!
