மகரக்குழை பதிந்த திருச்செவிகள்

40 மண்ணும்மலையும் கடலும்உலகேழும் *
உண்ணுந்திறத்து மகிழ்ந்துண்ணும்பிள்ளைக்கு *
வண்ணமெழில்கொள் மகரக்குழையிவை *
திண்ணம்இருந்தவாகாணீரே சேயிழையீர்! வந்துகாணீரே.

Simple Translation

40. He happily swallowed the earth, hills, oceans and all the seven worlds. Come and see the beautiful emerald earrings of the lord. Oh girls with beautiful ornaments, see His lovely emerald earrings.

மண்ணும் மலையும் — பூமியையும் மலைகளையும்; கடலும் உலகு ஏழும் — கடலையும் ஏழு உலகங்களையும்; உண்ணும் — திருவயிற்றில் வைத்துக்கொள்ளும்; திறத்து மகிழ்ந்து — திறமையுடன் உவந்து; உண்ணும் பிள்ளைக்கு — உண்கின்ற பாலகனுக்கு; வண்ணம் எழில்கொள் — அழகிய நிறம் கொண்ட; மகரக் குழை இவை — மகரக் காதணிகளின்; திண்ணம் — திண்மையான; இருந்தவா காணீரே — அழகைக் காண்பீரே!; சேயிழையீர்! — அழகிய ஆபரணங்களையுடைய பெண்டிரே; வந்து காணீரே! — வந்து காண்பீரே!
