கண்ணனைத் தொழுதலே தொழில்

2465 பிதிரும்மனமிலேன் பிஞ்ஞகன்தன்னோடு
எதிர்வன் * அவனெனக்குநேரான் * - அதிரும்
கழற்காலமன்னனையே கண்ணனையே * நாளும்
தொழக்காதல்பூண்டேன்தொழில்.

Simple Translation

2465. I do not want any wonderful thing to happen to me. I will not be a devotee of Shivā— he will not be the right god for me. I will only worship Kannan every day, the king whose feet are adorned with sounding anklets. Loving and worshiping him is my only duty.

adhirum kazhal kāla — one who is donning the resounding anklet on his divine foot; mannanai — the king of kings; kaṇṇanaiyĕ — kaṇṇapirān (krishṇa); nāl̤um — every day; thozhum thozhil — making the activity of worshipping as profession; kādhal pūṇdĕn — ī, who am having affection [for emperumān]; pidhirum manam illĕn — do not have a wavering heart; pinjagan thannodum edhirvan — ī will be equalling rudhra in knowledge; avan enakku nĕrān — that rudhra will not compare with me (who is a permanent servitor)
