559. O friend, I had a dream.
The Brahmins bring divine water
from the four directions and sprinkle it all over.
They sing songs of purification.
I see Kannan beautifully garlanded and the priests tie the sacred
thread(Kankanam) on my hand along with the divine groom.

Avathārikai (Introduction)
In this divine verse, our holy mother Āṇḍāḷ continues the rapturous narration of her sacred dream. She reveals to her dear friend the very first ritual of her celestial wedding to Sriman Nārāyaṇa Himself: the auspicious tying of the kangaṇam. This sacred, yellow-hued thread, fastened around her wrist, marks the formal commencement of
