552 சார்ங்கம்வளையவலிக்கும்தடக்கைச்
சதுரன்பொருத்தமுடையன் *
நாங்களெம்மில்லிருந்தொட்டியகச்சங்கம்
நானுமவனுமறிதும் *
தேங்கனிமாம்பொழில்செந்தளிர்கோதுஞ்
சிறுகுயிலே! * திருமாலை
ஆங்குவிரைந்தொல்லைக்கூகிற்றியாகில்
அவனைநான்செய்வனகாணே.

Simple Translation

552. The clever one who is loved by all, shoots arrows from his bow with his strong hands. Only He and I know the promises we made when we stayed in our home. O small cuckoo bird who pluck the tender shoots of the sweet mango tree in the grove, if you coo and call for Thirumāl to come here quickly, you will see what I will do for him with my love.

Detailed WBW explanation

O youthful cuckoo, delicately pecking at tender red leaves amidst a grove abundant with mango fruits! The supremely capable Emperumān, whose vast divine hands wield the mighty bow Śārṅga with ease, is also profoundly adept in the matters of love. We both hold dear the secret pact we once forged together. Should you fail to summon that distant Emperumān, behold how I shall mete out my torment upon Him.
