கண்ணீர் விடுகிறோமே! இரக்கம் இல்லையா?

527 பரக்கவிழித்தெங்கும்நோக்கிப் பலர்குடைந்தாடுஞ்சுனையில் *
அரக்கநில்லாகண்ணநீர்கள் அலமருகின்றவாபாராய் *
இரக்கமேலொன்றுமிலாதாய்! இலங்கையழித்தபிரானே *
குரக்கரசாவதறிந்தோம் குருந்திடைக்கூறைபணியாய்.

527 parakka vizhittu ĕṅkum nokkip * palar kuṭaintu āṭum cuṉaiyil *

Simple Translation

527. O God who destroyed Lankā! Your eyes are wide open and you look everywhere. Can't you see the tears that flood our eyes, as we still stay inside the deep waters? Don't you have mercy? We wonder if you are the king of monkeys. Give us back the clothes you put on the kurundam tree.

O Destroyer of Laṅkā! Numerous devotees immerse themselves in the sacred waters of this lake. Cast your gaze across the shores of this hallowed site and behold the tears streaming down our faces, despite our efforts to restrain them. O Indifferent One! It has become evident to us that you are the sovereign of monkeys, adept at scaling the lofty trees. In your mercy, bestow upon us the robes that rest upon the Kurundham trees.
