508 வானிடைவாழுமவ்வானவர்க்கு
மறையவர்வேள்வியில்வகுத்தஅவி *
கானிடைத்திரிவதோர்நரிபுகுந்து
கடப்பதும்மோப்பதும்செய்வதொப்ப *
ஊனிடையாழிசங்குத்தமர்க்கென்று
உன்னித்தெழுந்தவென்தடமுலைகள் *
மானிடவர்க்கென்றுபேச்சுப்படில்
வாழகில்லேன்கண்டாய்மன்மதனே!

kāṉiṭait tirivatu or nari pukuntu *
kaṭappatum moppatum cĕyvatu ŏppa **

Simple Translation

508. O Manmatha! It is like foxes that wander in the forest coming and eating the food that the sages offer as a sacrifice for the gods in the sky, if people wish to give me away in marriage to someone human so that my bosom belongs to him instead of the pure lord with a conch and discus. (chakra) I will not live if I have to marry someone other than my lord.

Detailed WBW explanation

Oh Manmatha! The Brahmanas in this realm prepare havis, offerings composed of ghee, milk, curd, and other such substances, to be presented to the eminent celestial beings during ritualistic ceremonies. Should a jackal, wandering through the forest, cross paths with or merely scent these offerings, they become desecrated and unfit for their divine purpose.
