Simple Translation

2176. The words “Namō Nārāyanā” that you say with your tongue without stopping are the way to attain everlasting Mokshā. Why is it that people cannot understand this and go in wrong ways?

நா — துதிப்பதற்கு உபாயமான நாக்கு; வாயில் உண்டே — வாயிலே இருக்கிறதே; ஓவாது — களைப்பில்லாமல் பலமுறை; உரைக்கும் — சொல்லத்தக்க; நமோ நாரணா என்று — நமோ நாரணா என்ற; உரை உண்டே — திருமந்திரம் இருக்கிறதே; மூவாத — திரும்பி வருதல் இல்லாத; மாக் கதிக் கண் — பரமபதம்; செல்லும் — செல்வதற்கு; வகை உண்டே — உபாயம் உண்டே; தீக் கதிக் கண் — நரக மார்க்கத்தில்; ஒருவர் என் — ஒரு சிலர் ஏனோ; செல்லும் திறம் — போய் விழுகின்றனர்

nā — tongue (which is the implement for praising emperumān); vāyil uṇdĕ — is inside the mouth (without the need for searching for it outside); ŏvādhu — many times (without getting tired); uraikkum — apt to say; namŏ nāraṇā enṛu urai — thirumanthram; uṇdĕ — is available; mūvādha — not coming back; mā gadhikkaṇ — in paramapadham (ṣrīvaikuṇtam) which is the goal to be attained; sellum vagai uṇdĕ — archirādhi mārga, the path to go [to ṣrīvaikuṇtam] is ready; thī gadhikkaṇ — in the path to naragam (hell); oruvar — some people; sellum thiṛan — why are they going?

nā vāyil uṇḍē – Is there a necessity to search externally for the tongue that is intended for reciting the divine names of Emperumān? Īśvaraṇ (Emperumān) has already bestowed upon us the tongue!
