Simple Translation

2144. My hands worship nothing but him. My ears hear only his sweet words. I will not think of any pleasure except praising the sounding anklets on the feet of the lord whose arrows never miss their targets. Anyone should feel ashamed to desire any pleasure but that.

தோள் — என் கைகள்; அவனை அல்லால் — அப்பெருமானைத்தவிர; தொழா — வேறு எவரையும் தொழமாட்டா; என் செவி இரண்டும் — என் காதுகள் இரண்டும்; கேள் — ஸகலவித உறவுமான; அவனது — அப்பெருமானின்; இன் மொழியே — இன் மொழியையே; கேட்டிருக்கும் — கேட்டு உயிர் தரிக்கும்; நா நாளும் — நாக்கு தினந்தோறும்; கோள் — ஒளிமிக்க ஆதிசேஷனை; நாகணையான் — படுக்கையாக உடைய; குரை — ஒலிக்கின்ற; கழலே — வீரக்கழலையணிந்த பெருமானின்; கூறுவதே — திருவடிகளைக் கூறுவதையே விரும்புவேன்; நயம் — சப்தாதி விஷயங்களை; நாணாமை — வெட்கமில்லாமல் விரும்புவாரைப்போலே; நள்ளேன் — நான் விரும்பமாட்டேன்

Detailed Explanation

Avathārikai

In this verse, the revered Āzhvār reveals a state of complete spiritual immersion, wherein his sensory faculties, along with his very self, have become entirely engrossed in the experience of Emperumān. He marvels at the Supreme Lord, Sriman Nārāyaṇa, who, in His infinite compassion, sets aside His own exquisitely soft and delicate nature (saukumāryam).
