Piṉ ṉiṉṟu tāy irappak kēḷāṉ – Kausalyā, the mother of Śrī Rāma, followed Śrī Rāma and implored him, "Dear son, I have only one son; can I live if I am separated from you? Please do not go to the forest." Despite her earnest plea, Śrī Rāma proceeded to the forest.
