2247. See, O good heart, this birth is what has happened to us. If we praise the names of Nārāyanan resting on the ocean on a snake bed, that will be the way to avoid going to hell.

Idhu kaṇḍāy ippiraviyāvadhu – The true essence of this saṃsāra, as revealed by the gracious Emperumān, is far from what we previously perceived. This earthly existence, once thought to be splendid, is indeed the epitome of sorrow, a mere illusion.
