திருமாலே ஆயவனும் யாதவனும்

2231 அழைப்பன்திருமாலை ஆங்கவர்கள்சொன்ன *
பிழைப்பில் பெரும்பெயரேபேசி * - இழைப்பரிய
ஆயவனே! யாதவனே! என்று அவனையார்முகப்பும் *
மாயவனே! என்றுமதித்து.

Simple Translation

2231. I will call Thirumāl with his faultless names saying, “You are the cowherd adorned with precious ornaments, the Yādavan, the Māyavan, loved by all. ” In front of everyone I am calling Mādhavan with love in the same way all the cowherds call him.

Detailed WBW explanation

Āzhvār is invoking the Lord, the consort of Śrī Mahālakṣmī, beseeching Him to grace him with His divine presence. He speaks of Emperumān with profound devotion, unbounded by restraint. Nammāzhvār has mercifully elucidated in his Thiruvāimozhi 9-8-10, "sindhai kalangith thirumāl enṛu āzhaiṣṭān" (I will fervently call out to Emperumān, overcome with emotion).
