தசாவதாரம் எடுத்தவனே என்னை மயக்கியவன்

சின்னநறும்பூந் திகழ்வண்ணன் * வண்ணம்போல்
அன்னகடலை மலையிட்டணைகட்டி *
மன்னனிராவணனை மாமண்டுவெஞ்சமத்து *
பொன்முடிகள்பத்தும் புரளச்சரந்துரந்து *
தென்னுலகமேற்றுவித்த சேவகனை * -

Simple Translation

2764. She says, “He released the beautiful crescent moon from his curse, built a bridge on the ocean to go to Lankā, shot his arrows and fought with king Rāvana in a cruel battle made his ten heads decorated with golden crowns fall to the ground and sent him to the golden world in the sky. ” (54).

kāyāvin chinna naṛu pū thigazh vaṇṇan — having a complexion similar to the small flower with sweet fragrance, from the flowering plant kāyā (a bilberry plant); vaṇṇam pŏl — similar to his complexion; anna kadalai — ocean which has that complexion; malai ittu — throwing mountains; aṇai katti — building sĕthu (and mercifully entering lankā); mā maṇdu vem samaththu — in the cruel battle which was full of four types of armies [chariot, elephant, horse and foot soldiers]; mannan irāvaṇanai — the demon king rāvaṇa; pon mudigal̤ paththum pural̤a — making the ten beautiful heads to roll (on the ground); saram thurandhu — raining arrows; then ulagam ĕṝuviththa sĕvaganai — as a great warrior who made (that rāvaṇa) to reach yamalŏka (hell)
