309 உருப்பிணிநங்கையைத் தேரேற்றிக்கொண்டு *
விருப்புற்றங்கேக விரைந்துஎதிர்வந்து *
செருக்குற்றான் வீரம்சிதைய * தலையைச்
சிரைத்திட்டான்வன்மையைப்பாடிப்பற தேவகிசிங்கத்தைப்பாடிப்பற.

Simple Translation

309. Rukmani climbed Kannan's chariot willingly. When Rukman, her proud brother opposed him, Kannan shot arrows and cut off his head. O undi, fly and sing his praise, praise the lion-like son of Devaki and fly.

உருப்பிணி — ருக்மிணி; நங்கையை — பிராட்டியை; தேர் ஏற்றிக் கொண்டு — தேரில் ஏற்றிக் கொண்டு; விருப்புற்று — விருப்பத்துடன்; அங்கு ஏக — போகும் போதே; விரைந்து எதிர் வந்து — வேகமாக எதிரே வந்த; செருக்கு உற்றான் — கர்வமுடைய ருக்மனுடைய; வீரம் சிதைய — வீரம் அழியும்படி; தலையை — அவன் தலையை அம்பாலே; சிரைத்திட்டான் — வெட்டியவனுடைய; வன்மையை — பெருமையை; பாடிப் பற! — பாடுங்கள் பாராட்டுங்கள்!; தேவகி சிங்கத்தை — தேவகியின் சிங்கம் போன்ற மைந்தன் புகழை; பாடிப் பற! — பாடுங்கள் பாராட்டுங்கள்!
