கோலச்சிற்றாடைபலவுங்கொண்டு நீயேறியிராதே *
கோலங்கரியபிரானே! குருந்திடைக்கூறைபணியாய்.

528 kālaik katuviṭukiṉṟa * kayalŏṭu vāl̤ai viravi *

Simple Translation

528. We are in the pond and valai and kayal fish are biting our feet. Our brothers will come with spears to chase you, if they hear our voice. What game is this? O lord with a beautiful dark-colored body, don’t stay on the kurundam tree with our beautiful clothes. Give us back our silk clothes.

O Emperumān, whose divine form is resplendent with the hue of a dark cloud! The carp and scabbard fish nibble at our legs in unison. Should our brothers learn of how You playfully trouble us in this manner, they would hasten here, spears in hand, to chase You away; would this not give rise to a different kind of sport? Rather than adorning Yourself with charming short garments and perching upon the kurundham tree, it would befit Your mercy to graciously return our robes to us.
